DJI Mini 3 Pro adopts a redesigned structure and form, bringing the following advantages:
1. Longer battery life at the same compact size: The new form and design allow the drone to carry larger propellers and improve the propulsion efficiency of the propellers and the aircraft, bringing longer battery life.
2. Broader environment sensing range: The new design enables the drone to carry sensors with a larger FOV, further increasing the sensing range and distance. DJI Mini 3 Pro thus provides more powerful visual sensing capabilities, improving flexibility and safety during flight and obstacle avoidance.
3. True Vertical Shooting and expanded axes: The new design allows users to get portrait shots without the need for digital cropping. Fewer gimbal limits mean more shooting angles and added creative freedom. During high-speed flight, the aircraft angle also has less restrictions on the gimbal and the shooting angle.
DJI Mini 3 Pro uses an all-new vision sensor layout that effectively addresses the problem of the sensors being covered by the propellers when flying backward. This improves the sensing range and performance to provide added safety for users.
The max wind speed resistance of DJI Mini 3 Pro is 10.7 m/s (Level 5).
* Wind resistance is dependent upon propulsion. Under strong winds, due to the lightweight nature of the drone, slight vibration is expected. High-powered propulsion ensures the drone hovers stably or returns to home safely. DJI Mini 3 Pro automatically controls the gimbal to adjust slightly to ensure that the footage is always stable and not affected by the wind.
DJI Mini 3 Pro doesn't include a built-in fan, which effectively reduces the drone's power consumption and increases the battery life. Meanwhile, it uses the wind generated by the propellers to dissipate heat during the flight, ensuring excellent heat dissipation effects and preventing overheating.
When DJI Mini 3 Pro stays in standby mode for a long time, its temperature may continuously rise. With a built-in temperature control system, the drone, when in standby mode can detect the current temperature and decide whether to automatically power off to prevent overheating.
The common standby time periods of DJI Mini 3 Pro in the stationary state are as follows. If the time is exceeded, the drone may automatically power off to prevent overheating (tested in an indoor environment with an ambient temperature of 25℃).
When in standby mode on the ground: about 22 minutes
When updating firmware: about 19 minutes (sufficient for three upgrades)
When using QuickTransfer immediately after powering on: about 35 minutes
When using QuickTransfer after landing: about 35 minutes
Our DJI Mini 3 Pro has been designed in line with the current draft C0 standards which are due to be finalised in the future. We are currently conducting the certification test under these draft standards and, after being able to obtain the class identification label, will inform customers of how to certify their drone.
At the present time, any drone under 250g is subject to the same rules and regulations regardless of whether or not it holds a class identification label, which is not yet available.
Currently, all DJI drones can be used in the Limited Open Category with certain restrictions until 31 December 2023 and beyond.
DJI Mini 3 Pro has been designed in line with the current draft C0 class identification standards (drones below the weight of 250 grams) which are due to be finalised in the future.
Regulators in Europe and other jurisdictions around the world (e.g. the US or Australia) have agreed that drones weighing less than 250 grams are not going to cause the same kind of damage as a heavier drone when involved in a crash or collision. Since they consider sub-250g drones to pose the lowest risks, they have made them subject to fewer restrictions and requirements than their heavier counterparts.
The larger battery (Intelligent Flight Battery Plus) would add approx. 40 grams to the Maximum Take-Off Mass (MTOM) of the DJI Mini 3 Pro and place it into the draft C1 class identification standard which would pose more restrictions on the use of the drone. DJI would like to avoid this scenario for the Mini series of our portfolio in order to appeal to a wider consumer base.
Camera
Yes. You can manually set camera parameters like shutter speed, ISO, and white balance in the DJI Fly app.
Photo mode: In Single Shot mode, DJI Mini 3 Pro can recognize the scene and automatically enables HDR for better dynamic range.
Video mode: When recording video at 30fps or lower, DJI Mini 3 Pro automatically enables HDR.
When recording at 4K/30fps, DJI Mini 3 Pro can deliver optimal footage quality that takes care of both dynamic range and image details.
If you need smoother footage, you can set the frame rate to 48/50/60fps. The dynamic range of these frame rates will decrease relatively.
DJI Mini 3 Pro features the dual native ISO values of ISO 100 and ISO 800.
Photo mode and video mode (24/25/30fps): The sensor will algorithmically integrate the images gained by the two sets of analog amplifier circuits for a better dynamic range of actual imaging.
Video mode (48/50/60/120fps): When you set an ISO value below 800, the drone will use the low-gain analog amplifier circuit. When you set an ISO value above or equal to 800, the drone will use the high-gain analog amplifier circuit. When recording with a frame rate of 48/50/60/120fps, it is recommended to set the ISO value to 100 in strong lighting environments, or 800 in low-lit environments for better imaging effects.
Remote Controller
DJI RC currently supports a quick preview of footage after shooting; supports downloading photos (excluding panorama photos) and 1080p videos (excluding footage shot in D-Cinelike mode); does not support functions such as original material editing and sharing.
It is recommended to install the DJI Fly app on your smartphone and to use the QuickTransfer feature. With this feature, you can connect DJI Mini 3 Pro directly to your smartphone to quickly transfer footage, and then manage and share the footage through the DJI Fly app.
Due to the limited built-in storage space of DJI RC, it is recommended to use an external microSD card to store the recording cache and use the screen recording feature.
