On Friday, July 18th the global rideshare app Uber turned its taxi network into an ice-cream delivery service. As the event kicked off in Shenzhen, DJI helped Uber provide frozen joy by delivering ice cream with our drones!
With a dedicated fleet of Phantom 3 Professional aircraft, DJI delivered ice cream to people across Shenzhen, including a high school choir group made up of children regarded as ‘left behind’. Children are referred to as ‘left behind’ in China when their parents are compelled to work in a different city but their kids are unable to move with them. DJI, in partnership with Uber, was excited to provide ice cream and smiles to these children, free of charge!
DJI is proud to lead the commercial UAV industry, and looks forward to making unique applications like this a feasible and safe option for everyday use. DJI Communications Director Michael Perry said, “We are proud to help out with events like these as they show how our aerial systems can be used to be economically useful and, more importantly, bring smiles to the world.”
