Get To Know Your Destination

Before traveling, it's necessary to learn about the drone laws of your destination. Try to avoid violating local laws and regulations during your trip. Before flying, check if you're in a restricted flight zone. View a list of restricted areas here: >>Learn More about FlySafe

Packing

Pack your Mavic Air in its DJI case, which is small enough to pack away in a suitcase or backpack for maximum convenience.

Be Aware of Customs Regulations

When passing through customs, the drone is generally not required to be declared if it's for personal use only. If it's for commercial use or trade, it needs to be declared according to the country’s individual customs regulations.

Check Airline Regulations

Different airlines have different regulations for the carrying and shipping of drones and batteries. Please consult your airline before traveling. Batteries are generally not permitted in check-in luggage so you'll need to carry them onboard.

Step 1 – Check Your Drone

Before flying, make sure that: 1. The batteries are fully charged; 2. The front and rear arms, and foot frame are all fully extended; 3. The DJI GO app is the latest version; 4. The camera is clean. Make sure you complete these steps so your Mavic Air can fly safely.

Step 2 – Choose a Good Place for Take-off and Landing

Your drone should take-off from and land on a flat, still surface.

Check the Local Weather

DO NOT fly in bad weather, such as in strong winds or in the snow, rain, and fog.

Check Your Surroundings

Choose an open space with no tall buildings around. DO NOT fly in areas with high voltage wires, telecommunication base stations, or television towers to avoid interference with the remote controller.

Keep a Safe Distance from Crowds

When flying, please keep a safe distance from crowds.

Always Fly Within Line of Sight

When flying, make sure you can see your drone at all times.

Pay Attention to Extreme Location Warnings

GPS is unavailable in both Antarctic and Arctic Circles. The visual positioning system may be used instead. Be warned, when flying above 5,000 meters, the flight performance of the Mavic Air will be strongly affected.
