Policy Introduction

Swedish authorities allow tourists to fly drones under The Swedish Transport Agency regulations. The Swedish Transport Agency has issued a series of regulations for drone flight operations. Some highlights of these regulations are as follows:

Fly below the Swedish Transportation Agency’s altitude limit of 120 m

Keep away from people, animals, and private property

Do not fly over nuclear power plants, prisons, nature reserves and military areas

Do fly within 5 km of airport runways without explicit permission

Respect image and privacy rights

Check the local aviation authority's website and review all relevant rules and regulations before flying

Steps to follow as a new drone pilot

  • Mark aircraft with the operator’s name and telephone number
  • Flying is limited to daytime hours only
