Does the charger overheat while charging? Is it safe to use?

GaN chargers generate some heat under high-power output, which is normal.
DJI Power 140W GaN Charger uses an optimized heat-dissipation structure and GaN technology, so it generates less heat than conventional chargers. When high temperatures are detected, the charger automatically reduces its output power. Additionally, the charger features a built-in over-temperature protection system, supporting multiple safeguards such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection.

Can I take the charger on a plane? Can I use it overseas?

1. Yes, it can be taken on a plane:
DJI Power 140W GaN Charger is a power adapter (containing no lithium batteries) and is not classified as a power bank. Therefore, it is generally not subject to air transport restrictions and can usually be carried in carry-on or checked luggage.

2. Supports global voltage:
It supports 100-240 V wide-range input, covering the power grid standards used in most countries and regions. With the appropriate adapter plug for the destination, it can be used during international travel.

What do the different states of the DJI Logo LED indicator mean?

1. Solid on (low brightness): Powered on and on standby
2. Solid on (high brightness): Charging a device
3. Brief rapid blinking: A device has been connected or removed
4. Continuous rapid blinking: Status exception
5. Off: Sleep mode

Do I need to connect the charger to an app during use?

No. DJI Power 140W GaN Charger is plug-and-play and does not require an app connection.

Why does the charging speed decrease after the charger has been used for a while?

DJI Power 140W GaN Charger features a built-in over-temperature protection system that monitors internal temperature in real time to reduce overheating risk. If the temperature gets too high, the charger automatically lowers output power until the temperature returns to normal. It is recommended to use the charger in a well-ventilated environment between 0° C (32° F) and 25° C (77° F) and to avoid covering or obstructing it to ensure optimal heat dissipation.

Why does a single port sometimes fail to reach 140W power output?

First, make sure the connected device supports 140W input, such as MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021 and later models.
Second, use a USB-C to USB-C cable that supports the EPR protocol (140 W or 240 W). DJI Power 7A USB-C Digital Display Cable is recommended.
In addition, charging power changes with the device's battery level. Once the battery level exceeds 80%, the device will typically reduce input power automatically to help protect battery health.

Why doesn't the charger charge a phone as fast as its original charger?

Most mainstream phone fast-charging protocols typically support a maximum power range of 20 W to 34 W. Some phone brands use proprietary fast-charging protocols, which may limit charging power when a third-party charger is used. As a result, charging power may not reach the peak level of the original charger.

Which charging protocols does the charger support? What devices are compatible?

USB-C ports support PD 3.1, while USB-A port supports UFCS. All ports support QC 2.0/3.0, SCP, FCP, AFC, DCP, and Apple 2.4A protocols. Actual charging power depends on proprietary protocols or voltage/current limitations.

How is power allocated when multiple devices are charging simultaneously?

DJI Power 140W GaN Charger supports smart dynamic power allocation. When multiple ports are in use, it automatically adjusts the output of each port based on the number of connected devices and the port combination, such as USB-C1+USB-C2 or USB-C1+USB-A, to maintain charging efficiency. If a DJI device is connected to the USB-C1 or USB-C2 port, power output to that port is prioritized*, while the remaining power is dynamically allocated to the other ports. * If multiple ports are in use and one is connected to a DJI device, the charger supports dynamic power allocation and prioritizes power supply to connected DJI devices. This priority function is only available for select DJI devices and requires a DJI Power 7A USB-C Digital Display Cable connected to the USB-C1 or USB-C2 port. Unplug any idle cables when not in use to avoid limiting the max charging power of other ports.

Will charging for the first device pause briefly when a second device is connected?

For devices supporting dynamic voltage protocols (e.g., PPS), a brief disconnection may occur as the charger re-initiates a protocol handshake to ensure safety and precise power allocation.

Why do the values shown on the digital display cable differ from those shown on the charger or other third-party testing tools such as POWER-Z?

Differences in the readings are normal.
The main reasons are:
1. Display latency: Different devices use different sampling frequencies and screen refresh mechanisms, so the displayed real-time power may show slight timing differences.
2. Different sampling points: Each device reads voltage and current data at a different point in the circuit. Loss caused by line resistance can also create differences in the readings.
