DJI O4 Ground Station Launches to Expand Wide-Area Transmission for DJI Enterprise Drones
Features a 12-Antenna Array and Automatic Multi-Band Selection to Overcome Signal Limits to Support 24/7 Unattended Operations
June 16, 2026 - DJI, the global leader in civilian drones and creative camera technology, today launched DJI O4 Ground Station. Built to overcome signal limits, this new wide-area transmission system for DJI enterprise drones features a 12-antenna array and automatic band selection1. The new Gateway Mode1 connects directly to FlightHub 2 to bypass deployment barriers, while Relay Mode1 supports offline reach. Compatible with the latest DJI docks, enterprise, and delivery drones, the DJI O4 Ground Station is designed to support public safety teams on search-and-rescue missions in challenging environments, as well as 24/7 unattended inspection and surveying operations in remote locations.

Advanced Hardware, Robust Transmission
O4 Ground Station extends a DJI drone’s transmission via its advanced hardware for wide-area operations. The RF unit’s high output can significantly boost signal penetration and coverage, ensuring reliable links through dense urban obstructions. Meanwhile, its optimized signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) further enhances receiver sensitivity, enabling the recovery of usable signals even in complex electromagnetic environments. With 12 internal and external antennas, each with both horizontal and vertical polarizations, it can deliver omnidirectional, high-gain coverage. This ensures a signal can be continuously and stably captured regardless of the drone’s position.
No matter the environment, O4 Ground Station ensures continuous centimeter-level positioning data to safeguard flight operations. In congested urban RF environments, it can automatically shift across sub-2 GHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz, 5.8 GHz, and other bands1 to help bypass interference and deliver a crisp, stutter-free video feed. In more challenging, semi-obstructed environments such as urban canyons or dense canopies, the integrated high-gain RTK module can rapidly acquire satellite signals by tracking 19 frequencies across five global satellite systems.
Gateway Mode Delivers Wide Coverage
In Gateway Mode1, O4 Ground Station connects directly to DJI FlightHub 2 to deliver low-latency, high-bandwidth video feeds. For DJI Dock 3, this can extend coverage up to 30 km1. Operators can also use Gateway Mode with FlightHub 2 Virtual Cockpit1 to remotely control their drone. If within the ground station’s coverage area, preset routes can be manually overridden, enabling a flexible and fast response to multi-point task requirements. Flight data can also be used to generate a Signal Map1 to visualize weak coverage zones. This can help operators position their ground stations more precisely and strengthen communication links to enhance flight safety. Additionally, it features a smart power management system in Gateway Mode that automatically hibernates when not connected to a drone, drawing only 7 W1 on standby.
Relay Mode Ensures Offline Reach
Building on the capabilities introduced with the D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version, O4 Ground Station allows operators to switch to Relay Mode1 in offline areas such as valleys or urban environments with severe signal obstruction. In this setting, the ground station can be positioned at a high point to extend the drone’s video transmission range and connect sequentially to multiple remote controllers and DJI Docks1, thereby improving overall hardware utilization.
Durable Design, Smart Power
O4 Ground Station supports continuous, unattended operations in harsh outdoor climates. It has an IP67 rating against water and dust and can operate reliably in extreme temperatures from -40°C to 55 °C1. It can also mitigate the risk of lightning damage through its proprietary components and grounding design, meeting the EN/IEC 61643-21 Category C standard. Additionally, a fanless passive cooling and a self-recovery mechanism allow the station to automatically resume operation after power outages or software anomalies. This maintenance-free design reduces the need for manual on-site reboots and troubleshooting. For off-grid environments, the station can be connected to DJI Power solar solutions or third-party photovoltaic systems1. Via the MQTT protocol, the station can connect to third-party Remote ID or ADS-B receivers. This delivers real-time awareness of nearby unmanned and manned aircraft, proactively safeguarding the airspace around DJI Dock 3.
